Description
The Buffalo nickel or Indian Head nickel is a copper-nickel five cent coin. The US Mint struck this buffalo nickel from 1913 to 1938. It was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser.
These buffalo nickels all have dates and are primarily from the late 1920’s to the 1930’s. The design of the Buffalo nickel was one of the more popular designs from the US Mint.
The Jefferson Nickel replaced the Buffalo nickel in 1938.
