Tektites measuring 1 in to 3 in from Maoming City, Guangdong Province, China. This is a form of natural glass. Many scientists think it is formed when a meteorite strikes the earth. Tektites are found in very few places on earth, and except for green Moldavite ( I have several pieces) in Russia, usually looks similar to black obsidian. Chemically, however, it is different, with the composition more uniform and much less moisture.
