The Henbury meteorite fell in central Australia around 4,000 years ago, creating several craters known as the Henbury Crater Field. It is mostly made of iron and nickel, and many small, heavy pieces have been found in the area. Aboriginal people saw the fall and passed down stories that helped scientists find the site. Some pieces show signs of melting from the heat during the fall. It is one of the most well-known meteorite sites in Australia.
